Event Details

Rain or shine, (we’re betting on blue skies) the 28th Annual Easter Parade & Spring Celebration is coming up on Sunday, April 21, 2019 on San Francisco's historic Union Street. This fun-filled day features the always-popular Easter parade, Easter bonnet contest, face painting, a climbing wall, costumed characters, the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, pony rides, live entertainment, kids activities, plenty of amazing food and much more family fun. Throughout the day, the main stage, located at Union and Buchanan streets features live entertainment for all ages.

Come between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to take part -- the one-of-a-kind street fair on a historic Victorian shopping street is free of admission.

Zany hats? Of course. The Easter Bonnet Contest invites all children, adults, and even pets to get creative and sport their most crazy, silly, elegant or outrageous headgear for a chance to win prizes. Categories include Best in Show, Best Couple, Best Family, Best Pet, Best Children, Best Merchant, Most Elegant, Largest, Most Comical, and Most Creative Hat. Judging takes place from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Information Booth at Buchanan and Union streets, with winners stepping onto the main stage at 3:15 p.m.

“The Biggest Little Parade in San Francisco,” is a charming procession beginning at 2 p.m. at the corner of Gough Street and Union Street. Nearly 50 parade contingents filled with hundreds of enthusiastic participants make their way down the five blocks of Union Street from Gough to Fillmore Street, and the public is invited to join in. Over the years, this wildly colorful parade has had vintage cars, roller-blading cows, sophisticated fashionistas and fun, innovative floats.
