We booked this tour at the last minute and couldn’t be happier! The only thing that would have made the trip better was more time. Muir Woods lived up to the hype...serene and inspiring. The weather cooperated fully, and we enjoyed a sunny stroll through Sausalito followed by a scenic ferry ride back to the wharf. Charles guided our tour with charming stories and an entertaining history lesson. We highly recommend this package to everyone!
Guide/bus driver was very good. Tipped more than usual because of that. Muir Woods is beautiful. Been there years ago. Would return.
Great tour with excellent driver . I would Highly recommend this tour.
Driver was funny and kept the tour interesting. But the Muir Woods tour time was too short.
Wonderf tour, our tour guide William was awesome. Wouldve loved more time in the forest. An hour and a half is not enough.
Great Tour! We would not have seen everything included and had the additional information on the area without taking this tour! Highly recommend this tour....great value and great tour guide!
Excellent day out. loved all aspects of the trip and fantastic views of the bridge going back on the ferry.
Very well informed guide and very pleasant. We were extremely pleased with trip.
A fabulous experience with a very amiable, informative and accommodating guide, thank you!
Great tours both...very professional..
Good value, and professionally run, however too little time in Muir Woods.
Enjoyed the ride across the Golden gate bridge, and loved Muir Woods. Overall great tour. Greg was very informative and knew interesting facts about San Francisco. Only draw back was the people who were rude and continued to talk while the guide was talking. Luckily we had the front row!
Muir Woods was great and the bus driver/tour guide was fantastic. We did have difficulty with the reservations because we were suppose to get picked up at the hotel. The person that took our reservation gave us a pickup time but never scheduled the pickup. I was disappointed because we had to wait 2 hours for the next tour.
The amount of time you get in the woods is very short and it feels rushed. However, this gives you more time in Sausilito. We were able to spend a whole day out then walked to the office by pier 39 and at 5:30 their shuttle bus runs you home. It is expensive but it is door to door which when our hotel was so far away made up for it.
Amazing from start to finish! George was absolutely amazing! Thank you!
Loved the tour! Amazing tour guide, great personality and knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend this to anyone. Wish we could have stayed in Muir Woods longer as there is so much to explore.
Loved this tour. Both places are must visit! The trip into the woods is on a windy narrow road so if you are prone to car sickness this might not be the best place for you to visit. Our driver kept it cool and went somewhat slow so that was helpful. The woods were so beautiful and I am so glad we went on the tour. Parking was full at the woods so being on a tour bus allowed for easy drop off/ pick up. Sausalito was a great place to walk around and visit the shops. We loved the plants, water, shops, and restaurants. This was one of our favorite places we went during our trip. The ferry ride back was really easy because we did not have a bike. The bikers seemed to wait for a very long time to get on a late afternoon ferry. We ate lunch at hamburgers which was recommended by our tour guide and loved it! They make the burgers in the window on a spinning grille. Great little spot for lunch!
Travel north in style, on a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, across the Golden Gate Bridge , the icon of San Francisco, and through our picturesque coastal headlands into one of the oldest national monuments.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais is Muir Woods National Monument , one of the remaining groves of first growth coastal redwoods. The woods were named for John Muir, a 19th century naturalist who was instrumental in establishing the National Park system.
Muir Woods is made up of over 560 acres of redwood forest containing the largest Coast redwoods, up to 252 feet tall and 14 feet across, 1000 years old! Wander through this grove of virgin Redwoods and capture photo opportunities like you’ve rarely experienced. The park is home to 50 species of birds, black-tailed deer, steelhead trout and hundreds of other wild inhabitants.
Then travel on to picturesque Sausalito which was once a fishing village and now a tiny bayside community. Quaint Victorian bungalows are built into the steep hillside and a variety of waterfront restaurants, boutiques and small art galleries line the downtown shopping district. Sausalito has a Mediterranean appeal that is often compared to the French Riviera.
Once you depart from the tour in Sausalito, take your time exploring Sausalito! You’ll have time for shopping, photos or a bit of exploring long the waterfront of this unique town, with its old world charm and breathtaking views of the Bay and San Francisco skyline. When you check in for your tour with your tour operator, you will receive your one-way ferry ticket and ferry schedule to take the 30-35 minute cruise back to Pier 41, San Francisco.
