The Fillmore Jazz Festival, now in its 36th year, is the largest free jazz festival on the West Coast. Approximately 100,000 people will enjoy music from three outdoor stages up and down 12 blocks along Fillmore Street, from the corner of Jackson Street to the corner of Eddy Street.
The 36th annual festival is July 6-7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine, with top talent live entertainment all day. The fabulous performer lineup represents not only outstanding musical artists, but also wonderful community spirit, in a blending of heart and soul through the arts. Stalls display arts and crafts including pottery and painting, ethnic food covers Asian to Cajun and everything in between, say the organizers. Some 200 retailers, restaurants, bars and businesses that call Fillmore Street home embrace the event as well.
Visit www.511.org or the festival website for detailed transportation information about getting to Fillmore Street, as some Muni buses will be diverted during the weekend.
