Our trip to Muir Woods was great! Patrick our guide was very good at making sure everyone got to meet each other on the trip, we had a smaller bus in this case and there only 10 of us on the trip. He was very knowledgeable and made it all very interesting. I would recommend this company and if you get Patrick as your guide it will be great!

Our tour guide, Willie, was excellent. He gave us a lot of information, was entertaining and extremely helpful. He is an asset to your tour company. We really enjoyed our trip to Muir Woods.

Great day. The ride over The Golden gate bridge was wonderful, with a view of the bay and Sausalito. Our driver made it that much better. He was prompt, courteous, informative, safe and funny. The Redwoods are spectacular! followed by time in the charming to of Sausalito. I highly recommend this tour!

I called spur of the moment early morning to find an activity for that same day & the representative got us in at the last minute on a Muir Woods Tour. A nice charter picked us up at our hotel. Our driver was great - friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The woods are beautiful and easily accessed due to the improvements made for visitors. There's a nice little cafe, gift shop and restrooms at the beginning. Seeing the extremely limited parking situation at the site, I was so glad we opted for the tour. They drop you off right at the gate & pick you up there. Honestly, not much more time would be needed than what is offered by the tour. It was a great option for seeing the giant redwoods.

This is a great tour. We only booked for this Muir Woods Tour and ended up getting off at Sausalito. I am so glad we did. This really ended up 3 in one for us as the ferry trip back across the bay gives great views all round. The Woods are gorgeous and Sausalito is such a pretty little town. Our tour guide was the best, nothing was to much trouble, he was so funny and informative and such a gentleman. The only suggestion I would make is giving visitors more time at Muir Woods, making it at least 2.5 hours instead of 1.5 hours. We are so glad we experienced this tour thank you.

Great tour with helpful driver and guide. Highly recommend.

Phyllis, Lees summit, Missouri, Mar 23, 2017

Beautiful spot, the trees are awesome. A little disappointed when driver said he would only stop in Sausalito for about 10 minutes. Glad we decided to take the ferry back. Sausalito is a beautiful town, good little restaurants. Nice break from the busy style in San Francisco. Muir Woods is gorgeous and a must see.

Great trip, great guide Patrick!

Driver was excellent. The only down side to the tour, is that it would have been nice to have more time at Muir Woods

William, South plainfield, Nj, Mar 9, 2017

Great tour, the guide picked us up at our hotel in a very modern, comfortable van, at the designated time, and was a wealth of information from that point on. We proceeded to Muir Woods, again, the guide gave us so much information, about the places we were passing, and all about the redwoods. We had an hour and a half to walk through Muir Woods, just enough time to explore. We opted to leave the tour in Sausalito, have a nice dinner and ferry back. This tour was one of the highlights of our San Francisco trip!

Tour Details

The best way to get to Muir Woods from San Francisco! Travel north in style, on a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, across the Golden Gate Bridge, the icon of San Francisco, and through our picturesque coastal headlands into one of the oldest national monuments.

Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais is Muir Woods National Monument, one of the remaining groves of first growth coastal redwoods. The woods were named for John Muir, a 19th century naturalist who was instrumental in establishing the National Park system.

Muir Woods is made up of over 560 acres of redwood forest containing the largest Coast redwoods, up to 252 feet tall and 14 feet across, 1000 years old! Wander through this grove of virgin Redwoods and capture photo opportunities like you’ve rarely experienced. The park is home to 50 species of birds, black-tailed deer, steelhead trout and hundreds of other wild inhabitants.

Stay on board the bus as it travels on to picturesque Sausalito, once a fishing village and now a quaint bayside community with a Mediterranean appeal often compared to the French Riviera. Waterfront restaurants, boutiques and art galleries line Bridgeway Avenue, Sausalito’s downtown shopping district.

For those who want to sightsee & shop in Sausalito purchase the Muir Woods with ferry return package to disembark here and enjoy extended time on your. When ready, return to San Francisco by a 25-minute ferry ride. Note: Passengers on the Muir Woods only tour may also disembark in Sausalito and purchase a return ferry ticket at the dock.

*Muir Woods entrance fee is included in Muir Woods Tours.
