The details contained in the confirmation email were spelled out clearly. I was very pleased with the attention to details on this tour! The experience was fun and the other participants were very friendly! Willie was an outstanding driver and tour director! He was very upbeat, well versed and answered all our questions. I enjoyed the bus ride. The bus was very comfortable and the driver was very informative. The walk-through the wood was wonderful. I was disappointed with some the other visitors at the park. There were a few who were very noisy and made parts of the park unejoyable. Sausalito was a fun little town. The bus driver gave us a history of the town and suggested a few places to visit. That helped us enjoy it more. I would definitely take one of the tours again and would recommend it to my friends.

We booked this tour at the last minute and couldn’t be happier! The only thing that would have made the trip better was more time. Muir Woods lived up to the hype...serene and inspiring. The weather cooperated fully, and we enjoyed a sunny stroll through Sausalito followed by a scenic ferry ride back to the wharf. Charles guided our tour with charming stories and an entertaining history lesson. We highly recommend this package to everyone!

Muir Woods was great and the bus driver/tour guide was fantastic. We did have difficulty with the reservations because we were suppose to get picked up at the hotel. The person that took our reservation gave us a pickup time but never scheduled the pickup. I was disappointed because we had to wait 2 hours for the next tour.

The amount of time you get in the woods is very short and it feels rushed. However, this gives you more time in Sausilito. We were able to spend a whole day out then walked to the office by pier 39 and at 5:30 their shuttle bus runs you home. It is expensive but it is door to door which when our hotel was so far away made up for it.

Loved this tour. Both places are must visit! The trip into the woods is on a windy narrow road so if you are prone to car sickness this might not be the best place for you to visit. Our driver kept it cool and went somewhat slow so that was helpful. The woods were so beautiful and I am so glad we went on the tour. Parking was full at the woods so being on a tour bus allowed for easy drop off/ pick up. Sausalito was a great place to walk around and visit the shops. We loved the plants, water, shops, and restaurants. This was one of our favorite places we went during our trip. The ferry ride back was really easy because we did not have a bike. The bikers seemed to wait for a very long time to get on a late afternoon ferry. We ate lunch at hamburgers which was recommended by our tour guide and loved it! They make the burgers in the window on a spinning grille. Great little spot for lunch!

Very comfortable coach, convenient pick up from hotel, very informative commentary and a good option to stop at Sausalito and return by ferry. Quite a deal for the money. A bus ride, a tour, and a ferry ride if you want. Door to door service. Muir Woods is nice and something to see once. Saucelito had nothing but crowds for us so we took the bus back to the wharf. Wharf has great seafood. Then not as well publicized but if you meet back at tour office on wharf at 5 you can get a ride back to your hotel. Good deal all around.

Bus driver was a great tour guide, providing interesting information that I would not have learned on my own. The amount of time in Muir Woods was good for a nice walk through the paths. I particularly appreciated that they dropped you in Sausalito and let you decide when to take the ferry. My husband was not interested in shopping, so we were able to leave right after lunch.

Muir Woods is a great excursion to see the large Sequoia trees in their natural forest habitat. The trip to the woods takes you over the Golden Gate bridge going North. The woods has a cafe for food and drink and also two shops and restrooms. The actual walk is limited to 90 minutes but is ample time get a flavour of the national park. We chose to get the ferry back across the bay rather than staying on the bus. This offered excellent views of the bridge and Alcatraz. You pick up the ferry at Sausalito and return to Fisherman's wharf in San Francisco.

The redwoods were great! We had an hour and a half, and that was about the right amount of time for a visit. Sausalito was pretty, but mostly shops, and not a place we would have visited very long by itself; however, we wanted the ferry ride, which was very interesting, and it gave us a closeup glimpse of Alcatraz. The bus driver / tour guide was extremely informative and entertaining, and made the experience memorable. The arrangements for the trip were convenient, and we really appreciated that the bus driver contacted us to confirm the details, and to let us know he was on his way to pick us up.

This tour was one of the best we took in San Francisco. The driver was funny, informative & very professional. Definitely a trip everyone coming to SF should make! Although the forest is absolutely magical, I would like to suggest that the company have an optional tour that is a minimum of 2 hrs longer. It would have been great to explore more of the area as we feel we missed too much. Thanks again for a fantastic time!

Tour was just as advertised. Definitely recommend and price is reasonable. Due to park restrictions the tour was on a large van, not a full size bus. Which we thought was a nicer way to go. Driver was excellent (sorry I forgot his name). He gave interesting information the whole way, but no silly games to make you respond to. From other reviews was concerned about the curvy road and motion sickness but that part of the road was very short and was not a problem. Park has to be experienced as descriptions and pictures do not due it justice. Thought time at the park was adequate, but like all good things it does have to end. Was easy walk, saw seniors making the walk without difficulty. Took ferry back from Sausalito which was a good choice for the view. Sausalito is small and had plenty of time to walk around have lunch and catch a ferry back with not a long wait. Have taken many tours in many cities and this company did a great job. Had our 2 college aged kids with us and they loved the experience as well. Again will say great driver.

Our trip to Muir Woods and Sausalito was very comfortable, convenient and enjoyable. Our guide was very good and quite knowledgeable. Our only negative was that nobody communicated the correct time for the return shuttle to hotels. They only told you which ferry to use. Therefore we waited a long time for our shuttle and nobody at the front desk really seemed interested. And of course at this point we were very tired, which did not help.
    Response from the Team
We appreciate your feedback and we regret any misunderstanding. As stated on the e-ticket and in the tour description: Hotel Return effective May 1, 2017: For those who return via Ferry, we provide a hotel shuttle departing from Main Terminal at 5:30PM. For Mon-Fri guests, please return on the 3:45pm ferry ; Sat-Sun & holiday guests, please return on the 2:55pm ferry. 2pm Tour guests will not be back in time for return hotel shuttle. Sergio was a delightfully charismatic tour guide and very safe and comfortable driver. We learned a lot about the history of the area and very much enjoyed his storytelling. The woods were beautiful and since it happened to be quite a crowded day there, we do wish we had had more time to explore, but we did get a good flavor of the beauty of the place. We chose to depart in Sausalito and explore the town before taking the ferry back to San Francisco, all of which we enjoyed. Thank you!

We REALLY enjoyed our experience to the Redwoods and Saulsolito! It seemed to good to be true. We booked three hours before tour was scheduled to pick us up. The very nice luxury bus picked us up on the dot at our hotel. They took our phone number to make sure they found us. Our tour director was absolutely adorable and professional at the same time. I can't remember her name, but she had just got engaged the night before, and mentioned it to us. She pleasantly chattered giving us all of the history and details of the city and of our journey to the redwoods. She was so sweet and so much fun we didn't want to leave the tour. The redwoods were gorgeous and they gave us just the perfect amount of time to explore. On the way back they dropped us off at saulsilito. We had lunch and looked around the area. We then loaded the ferry and took the great ride back to fishermans wharf. They would have taken us back to our hotel but we decided to stay in the wharf for the evening and explore. I would 100% recommend this tour with this company. Everyone was very accommodating and extremely nice!! 👍🏻😃

My only complaint is that I wish we could have spent the entire day at Muir Woods. Ninety minutes just isn't enough. However, I would happily recommend this tour to anyone. :)

The tour was awesome and our tour guide, Will, was informative and fun to be with. He was also a very competent driver as we wound our way down the narrow road to the woods. The Redwoods are spectacular and well worth visiting. An advantage of this tour is you are free to roam Muir Woods independently. Sausalito was a charming bay area and loved hearing about its history. Because it was raining we chose not to take the ferry, which in finer weather would have been lovely. Also saw other areas of San Francisco that we hadn't seen before. Highly recommend this tour and many thanks to Will for making it such an amazing time.

A great tour to the Muir Woods! Having read that the roads were windy, I'd brought motion sickness bands. I was impressed and really appreciated the opportunity to sit in the front seats, which had been reserved for those with sensitive stomachs on twisty roads. The tour guide was a superb driver on the roads, and filled us with info. I particularly enjoyed her wit and fun-loving spirit: she was a hoot! Thanks!

This tour was so much fun and incredibly convenient. The hotel pickup was seamless and Patrick, our bus driver and tour guide, was beyond friendly and accommodating. Not to mention, hilarious. I would recommend doing this tour if you are thinking of doing some sight seeing in Muir Woods and Sausalito. We opted to be dropped off in Sausalito and take the ferry back into the city. My one recommendation would be to not forget to exchange your ferry ticket voucher for actual tickets. We thought the voucher was all we needed and when it came time to exit the ferry, we didn't have the proper tickets. Lucky for us, the crew was very nice and let us off. (The Blue and Gold Ferry line sells tickets once you are on the ferry, whereas, the other ferry line requires you to purchase in advance) The tour company offers a shuttle to your hotel at the end of the day as well. We forgot where the office was and decided we would just take the Muni instead. As luck would have it, we just so happened to be walking down the street where the office was to see Patrick pulling away from the curb. Even though we didn't check in at the office he remembered us from the morning and welcomed us aboard no questions asked. He even remembered which hotel we were staying at. Overall, great experience and would recommend to anyone interested.

Very strict on timing, when you have to go back, we were late 2 minutes only and the bus was gone..... trying to save time or give us a lesson, we are not in school we are on vacation, while the bus head late for our tour in the mornning.
    Response from the Team
Yes, the departure time from the park should be taken very seriously. The driver can't wait around for latecomers, this is stressed when passengers are let off the bus. Best to return to the bus a few minutes early. There is very poor cel phone coverage in Muir Woods which makes booking Uber or calling a cab quite a challenge.

Our recent tour experience to Muir Woods was most wonderful. Booking on line was easy and the driver friendly and professional. We definitely would have enjoyed the opportunity to remain there longer - an hour is just not enough time to enjoy the beauty of this park. I would suggest an option to remain in the park for 2, 3, 4, hour rotation with bus service to Sausalito..... similar to the optional travel on the ferry to Alcatraz. May not be possible ? Otherwise, we enjoyed the value as well as the views!
Response from the Team offers a Hop-On Hop-Off Muir Woods tour for those looking to spend more time on their own in the woods.

Happy we booked this tour. It worked out really well. The bus driver took us to Muir Woods for 1 1/2 hrs and then dropped us off at Sausalito, and we took the ferry back. So happy we didn't have to drive on those twisty scary roads. Parking was also very limited. The driver was informative and interesting to listen to. It was a very good experience.

So glad we got in this tour. Exceeded all of my expectations. I booked a 2pm tour at 10am same day after calling 4 other places who were full. We got picked up at 1pm at our hotel (they were even early). We went back to the check-in site at Fisherman's Wharf near Hotel Zephyr and left for Muir at 2pm. Our driver/tour guide was great. I expected a boring monologue but it was entertaining, the guy could have been a comedic newscaster. He tells you about the history of the Muir Woods Monument, Golden gate bridge, and the trees and animals at Muir and things to view during the bus ride. Sit on the passenger side (versus driver side) of the bus so you get a better view of Sausalito. We got 1 hour and 35 minutes in the park as advertised even though we were behind a slow driver on the way. Use the free map when you turn in your entry ticket provided by Tower Tours. We were able to walk through the Buffalo grove loop on the flat path and around Cathedral grove with time to pause for pictures, use the restroom, and browse the gift ship. Be sure to look for the unmarked dead end walk-way on the east side of the loop on Buffalo Grove that takes you to the widest tree. It's past the gift shop/cafe. There's a big open deck with benches where the Rangers give talks and a little walk way that leads you around to the big tree. The tour accounted for all the passengers and left on time. The tour started up again and we got more stories about shark attacks and celebrities living in Sausolito including some renditions of famous musicians that lived in the area. The bus drops you off near the ferry pick up if you want to explore Sausalito. Beware this tourbus requires a ferry return if you stay in Sausolito. If you stay on the bus they'll drop you off wherever you need to go in SF. The driver recommended Fish and Chips, Hamburger, and the ice cream shop. We opted for the ice cream/hamburger place. The ice cream was amazing. They have tropical flavors like lychee and mango. If you buy your ferry ticket through the tour they give you a voucher and a schedule for the return ride which was helpful. There are 2 ferry companies and your voucher is only good for Blue and Gold which drops off at Pier 41 near the wharf. The other company drops off at the embarcadero. There are a lot of bicyclists and pedestrians in line for the ferry but there is plenty of room so don't be concerned about not getting on as it's not high season in Sept. On board you can exchange your voucher for a ticket or buy tickets. When you disembark you show your ticket. The walkers go out first followed by the bicyclists.

I have read previous reviews commenting that there was too little time at Muir Woods and others too little time in Salsalito but we felt the balance was just about right . We had an extra stop at the end of the Bridge to allow a mechanic to come out and add an additive to the fuel which we viewed ( excuse the pun) as a bonus although some on the trip were running on a very very tight time scale and we're having to skip Salsalito on the way back as a result. We eat at The Spinnaker set out over the water looking towards San Fransisco We had chosen the "come back by ferry " option which made things much more flexible and gave superb views of the Bridge and the City from the ferry as we returned. Why not 5 stars - well the tour guide was a great character but you did feel he was running the day on a schedule he made up as he went along and which spoilt it for some and a clear warning in the publicity material that the coach ride was along very winding roads might have forewarned passengers and given them chance to take anti- nausea medication , rather than feel (or be) sick.

After reviewing many options, we decided on this package and were very happy we did. Hotel pickup and drop off, clean buses, timely and interesting drivers, enough time in each location to enjoy the sights, with flexibility to remain longer, if we preferred. If you need to pack a lot into one day, this is a good option.

It was a wonderful excursion as first time visitors to San Francisco! It was very convenient getting picked up at our hotel. It is much easier to visit Muir Woods with a tour group then trying to find parking with a private vehicle. Plus the road are not the easiest to navigate for tourists unfamiliar with the area. Muir Woods is not to be missed. Fantastic 1.5 hours walking through these amazing forests. Sausalito is a pretty little town to have lunch in after a hike through the woods, and the ferry ride back gives good views of the city skyline and Alcatraz. The best part of our tour was our tour guide and motorcoach driver named John. He was informative, entertaining and just downright amazing! We learned so much about San Fransisco and the surrounding area, and felt like we were enjoying a stand-up comedy routine at the same time. He was great!!! Highly recommend this tour!

Great way to visit the woods without having to rent a car. Comfortable bus - nice to be able to look out both ways crossing the GG Bridge. If one of us had been driving, one of us wouldn't have enjoyed the views. Drop-off area near the entrance and pre-issued tickets made the entry process quick and easy. We enjoyed being dropped off in Sausalito for a leisurely dinner and then the ferry ride back to SF.

Muir Woods itself is amazing and the commentary given by the driver was interesting and informative. However, our tour was 15 minutes late leaving the depot ( due to a driver forgetting to pick someone up and having to go back to a hotel) - this meant we had 15 minutes less in the Woods which is quite a bit out of the promised 90 minutes. There was no real apology for this. Also, I hadn't realised that there would be no stops on the way there and back - it would have been nice to have stopped for a few minutes for a photo of the bridge and for perhaps 15-20 minutes for a brief stop in Sausalito. However, we were very happy with the office staff who deleted our Ferry Return at the last minute and even arranged a refund - thankyou!

The driver/guide/Bill was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. The pickup service at the hotel was on time and a great feature. WE had just enough time at Muir Woods to satsify us . I even hugged a tree. We took the 11:00 AM tour, which gave us about 1 hour in Sausalito before taking the ferry back to San Francsico in order to be able to get the shuttle back to the hotel. We would have preferred a little more time in Sausalito but taking a later ferry we would have missed the shuttle back to the hotel. Our advice is to take the 9:00 AM tour, if possible and that would give more time in Sausalito, to enjoy lunch as well. But definitely worth it. Highly recommend this tour with GuideYou.

Our tour of the Muir Woods was fantastic!!! I still am in awe of the wonder of nature. I would have loved to have stayed longer in the woods and less time in Sausalito. • Posted Oct 14, 2014
Great to be taken out to the woods, which were very impressive, and should not be missed! I felt Sausalito was a little anti-climactic after that, and would prefer to have a longer guaranteed stay in the woods, considering the extensive trail network there, though I thoroughly enjoyed the boat journey back across the bay. I hadn't realised we were going to be listening to the driver give a tour description all the way up to the woods, which was at times a little bit much, because a few of us wanted to just relax and chat amongst ourselves as we travelled.

I'm quite the nature lover so I would have loved to have spent more time in the park, but for most of my group the time was enough. We stuck to the main path and just had enough time to go out and back. We opted for the Sausalito ferry option and were glad we did. Our tour started with a very informative, helpful and comical tour guide; can't remember his name. The bus trip to Muir Woods took about 30 mins and showed us a whole new area of San Fran; beautiful sites. As far as Muir Woods, what a breath-taking and tranquil place to visit, however, our tour was definitely affected by the rainy weather. We toured quickly and captured very few photos because of the rain. We had decided on the Ferry return so that we could spend more time in Sausalito, but after a quiet and dry lunch at a small fish and chips shop, we headed back to San Fran. If and when we visit San Fran again, we will redo this tour, hopefully with better weather. I strongly encourage anyone who enjoys the beauty of nature to do this tour.

Very good tour guide and an excellent "extra " tour of Presidio area due to extreeme traffic jam. Due to delays we did not get to stop on golden gate bridge on way out and as we returned by ferry, we did not get to stop on the way back. The walk around the trees at Muir woods was only just long enough - but the nicest bits are away from the crowds so you need more time for the longer trails. Nice Not to have to drive the windy roads up the mountain and back. Thanks

Parking seemed very sparse for those driving their own vehicles, so a tour bus is the way to go for Muir Woods, which are absolutely gorgeous. Had a nice lunch in Sausalito, then did a little shopping before taking the ferry back to SF. The pick up office is a block behind Fisherman's wharf area and the bus was what I would call a Limo type bus, very comfy seats and only holds about 35 people. Our driver Bill was great, very funny and knowledgeable about the areas and told us the history as we drove along. We went over the Golden gate and had some fantastic views of the bay and Sausalito as we crossed the bridge. After a winding road up to the Natl. park area, we were dropped off right near the trailhead and then walked thru the huge trees for 1.5 hours, this was plenty of time to see all the nature and then we got some souvenirs at the gift shop on the way out. We departed for Sausalito and then stayed there for lunch, walked around a bit before taking the Ferry back over to SF, with awesome views on the bridge and Alcatraz. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour company, very well done all around!

Tour and guide were great, good to have 1 1/2 hours in the woods. Taking the ferry on our way back the tour was really worth it

Provided good information while driving us to the places we wanted to go, but not shepherding us around once we got there.

This is a great company to deal with when planning an excursion. The guide on our trip to Muir Woods was knowledgeable and informative. We would have liked to have spent more time in Muir Woods. One and one half hours was not enough to see everything.

Great tour. Muir Woods was breathtaking. The ferry allowed us to take lots of pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and different views of the city. Would definitely do it again!

Could have had more time in the Forest! an extra hour would have been great!

Very nice tour, with a friendly driver who told us a lot of interesting things about the history of Muir Woods! I took the 11 am tour and the woods were not yet crowded. It was also worth to stop in Sausalito, spend some time there and take the Ferryboat back.

We loved this and it was a great addition to our San Francisco visit. We would reccomend it to anyone that would like to get out of the city. The ferry ride back is a must do as well, because we were able to enjoy Sausalito longer. Great Experience, Great idea....the woods are so quite and peaceful. Nice refresher overall!

This experience is worth every penny! Wine country has been on my bucket list for years, and Abe (the tour driver) was so comical and made the day a blast! You don't have to worry about a thing, besides sitting back and enjoying the moment. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested! Wish I could go back.

Great tour! A great tour guide/driver with great commentary on his part, very amusing & funny as well. The tour is best if you take the return to San Francisco via the ferry. Taking the bus back gives you limited time in Sausalito (15 mins. max). Sausalito is a great place to walk around & have lunch. The arrival at Fisherman's Wharf also allows you to walk around that area as well.

I personally love Muir Woods. It's an escape from the city with gorgeous redwood trees and wildlife that make you feel at peace whenever you're there. I love the tour for all the information given about San Francisco and Muir Woods by the tour guide which I would've never known about if not for him. The return trip by ferry was a good choice because its a quick trip back to San Francisco that you couldn't experience if you're coming back by bus. You get to see the city in a totally different angle- from the bay. This is my second time going on this tour, and it's completely worth it.

Great tour - well organised. Very efficient pick up at hotel. The tour guide was really informative and fun. Would highly recommend.

Despite the rain the 1 and 1/2 hour tour of the Muir Woods met our expectations. We spent some time in Sausalito which we didn't find particularly interesting but we were hungry and there were plenty of places to eat. The ferry was more fun than a bus. We thank the tour company for their great guide, Tyrell. He was enthusiastic about the history of the area and we enjoyed that.

The tour to Muir Woods was fantastic. From the moment of pick up from the hotel to arrival at the office to be re-allocated to the designated tours, the entire experience was pleasant, staffs were very helpful, friendly and professional. The weather on the day was perfect. Mr T (Guide & Driver) was very friendly, professional with a great sense of humor and armed with in depth knowledge to both local and to the city. The bus is comfortable and Mr T is a very good and attentive driver. Muir Woods is beautiful and a wonder of his own. Sausalito is a must visit stop and the return via ferry was a perfect way to enjoy the city. I would highly recommend this tour. However, one suggestion is to provide more info on the exchange of ferry voucher to ticket onboard as the crews onboard didn’t know what to do with the voucher.

My family did enjoy the tour . Great places ! And the bus driver , himself is a good tour guide too ! He gave a very good recommendation on what to see and where to dine in Sausalito . We are happy with the service.

Great one day tour! Chose the Sausalito ferry option, it´s really worth it. You will have about 1 1/2 hours wthin Muir Woods which is just about enough for the tourist trail. If you wanna do a little more hiking you´d rather have to do an individual trip. But within its description it´s as good as it gets.

Really great experience. The booking(by phone),pick up and transfer were reliable and well organised. The coach was clean and the driver was excellent- informative and funny. A great experience although Muir woods was cold (mid october). So take a really warm jacket and wear trousers.

Loved this trip. Pickup at the hotel was so convenient and our tour operator was funny, informative, helpful, and an excellent driver around the curves on our way to Muir woods. The amount of time spent at Muir woods was perfect, not too long, but long enough to check it out. Sausilito was beautiful and taking the ferry back at our own leisure was a perfect ending. I would highly recommend this tour.

Very good tour. Our driver/guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The ferry return was definitely worth it as you can explore Sausalito at your own pace. My only problem with the tour was not enough time in Muir Woods. I really wish we had another hour there to really take in the park at a nice, slow pace.

This is my second time taking this tour and it was fantastic as expected. The weather was great and our driver was very informative and new lots of trivia about the area as well as information about the forest and the trees themselves. We chose the ferry returns option and spent the afternoon in Sausalito shopping. I would recomend this tour to anyone visiting the San Francisco area.

Tour and driver were good. Traffic around Sausalito was bad, and probably cut down on our time to visit. Luckily, we were taking the ferry back to San Francisco, so we had more time than those returning on the bus.

Great tour. The guide made it very clear what time we had to be back to the bus but there is always one late person. 15 minutes in fact. I suggest you leave them. Why should the rest of the bus suffer for 1 person being inconsiderate..... The tour bus driver was very polite about the situation.

Nice tour all in all. The guide/driver was informative and interesting. Muir Woods is worth seeing. We alos enjoyed the ferry ride back across the bay to San Francisco from Sausilito. We were able to get great pictures of the golden gate bridge and San Francisco.

From the start of our tour, with no hassles or delays, to the drop off in Sausalito the morning was fun, informative, and trouble free. The tour driver was knowledgable and in good form as he kept us informed along the route past the Presidio, over the Golden Gate, and along the winding drive to the Woods. The views of Sausalito and the bay (see my photo) were terrific. The personal treatment made the morning tour very worthwhile. We'd do it again. Good job!
