Tour guide was funny and informative
Quite a deal for the money. A bus ride, a tour, and a ferry ride if you want. Door to door service. Muir Woods is nice and something to see once. Saucelito had nothing but crowds for us so we took the bus back to the wharf. Wharf has great seafood. Then not as well publicized but if you meet back at tour office on wharf at 5 you can get a ride back to your hotel. Good deal all around.
Great driver & guide :)
Bus driver was a great tour guide, providing interesting information that I would not have learned on my own. The amount of time in Muir Woods was good for a nice walk through the paths. I particularly appreciated that they dropped you in Sausalito and let you decide when to take the ferry. My husband was not interested in shopping, so we were able to leave right after lunch.
Muir Woods is a great excursion to see the large Sequoia trees in their natural forest habitat. The trip to the woods takes you over the Golden Gate bridge going North. The woods has a cafe for food and drink and also two shops and restrooms. The actual walk is limited to 90 minutes but is ample time get a flavour of the national park. We chose to get the ferry back across the bay rather than staying on the bus. This offered excellent views of the bridge and Alcatraz. You pick up the ferry at Sausalito and return to Fisherman's wharf in San Francisco.
Pickup was prompt. On time. Very friendly driver. Tour was great! Would definitely recommend.
Excellent and bus driver great. Would have liked about an hour more to walk north in woods though. Water on bus would have been nice too.
The redwoods were great! We had an hour and a half, and that was about the right amount of time for a visit. Sausalito was pretty, but mostly shops, and not a place we would have visited very long by itself; however, we wanted the ferry ride, which was very interesting, and it gave us a closeup glimpse of Alcatraz. The bus driver / tour guide was extremely informative and entertaining, and made the experience memorable. The arrangements for the trip were convenient, and we really appreciated that the bus driver contacted us to confirm the details, and to let us know he was on his way to pick us up.
The whole day was fantastic with everything going to plan and a great and helpful tour guide/driver.
This tour was one of the best we took in San Francisco. The driver was funny, informative & very professional. Definitely a trip everyone coming to SF should make! Although the forest is absolutely magical, I would like to suggest that the company have an optional tour that is a minimum of 2 hrs longer. It would have been great to explore more of the area as we feel we missed too much. Thanks again for a fantastic time!
Great tour, great staff. Highly recommend this gem!
The trip was great and the guide excellent - very knowledgeable. My only concern was with the email response once tickets were purchased. We went to Pier area and went to a couple different booths before getting guidance to go to Beach St. (if I remember). Thank goodness we gave ourselves enough time to find your location - not clear when ordering.
Travel north in style, on a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, across the Golden Gate Bridge , the icon of San Francisco, and through our picturesque coastal headlands into one of the oldest national monuments.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais is Muir Woods National Monument , one of the remaining groves of first growth coastal redwoods. The woods were named for John Muir, a 19th century naturalist who was instrumental in establishing the National Park system.
Muir Woods is made up of over 560 acres of redwood forest containing the largest Coast redwoods, up to 252 feet tall and 14 feet across, 1000 years old! Wander through this grove of virgin Redwoods and capture photo opportunities like you’ve rarely experienced. The park is home to 50 species of birds, black-tailed deer, steelhead trout and hundreds of other wild inhabitants.
Then travel on to picturesque Sausalito which was once a fishing village and now a tiny bayside community. Quaint Victorian bungalows are built into the steep hillside and a variety of waterfront restaurants, boutiques and small art galleries line the downtown shopping district. Sausalito has a Mediterranean appeal that is often compared to the French Riviera.
Once you depart from the tour in Sausalito, take your time exploring Sausalito! You’ll have time for shopping, photos or a bit of exploring long the waterfront of this unique town, with its old world charm and breathtaking views of the Bay and San Francisco skyline. When you check in for your tour with your tour operator, you will receive your one-way ferry ticket and ferry schedule to take the 30-35 minute cruise back to Pier 41, San Francisco.
