Since 1933, one of the world’s top companies, San Francisco Ballet, stages performances in the classically beautiful War Memorial Opera House with seating for 3,146 people. The 2017 repertory season opens with a gala on January 19, themed as “Ever Magical.”

During the season through early May, eight programs will feature four world premieres. Among the program highlights are “Must-See Balanchine,” “Swan Lake,” “Cinderella,” andthe North American premiere of choreographer Liam Scarlett's lavish new “Frankenstein” inspired by Mary Shelley’s Gothic masterpiece.

Tickets are available online. In season, the ballet box office is open on performance days. For ballet on a budget, limited standing room only, senior and student tickets may be available. The War Memorial Opera House is a short walk from the Civic Center BART and MUNI stations as well as the Van Ness MUNI station.
