Parkwide Bike Rentals & Tours

Rent Bikes from Five Different Locations Around the City

Details

Exploring San Francisco on a bike is fun and easy, especially in the beautiful parks. The official concessionaire for bike rental has convenient rental locations so that everybody can get around the highlights such as Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, Ocean Beach, Crissy Field and Fisherman's Wharf, and lots more great locations without hills too steep to navigate.

Locations

Rent your bike from two different location inside Golden Gate Park; one is behind the bandshell on Music Concourse Drive between the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences. The second Golden Gate Park rental location is located at the corner of Stanyan Street and Haight Street by the park entrance, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Another three locations around the city are open seven days a week. One is at the entrance to Union Square Plaza near the corner of Geary Street and Stockton Street, facing the Westin St. Francis Hotel.

You’ll find a Parkwide Bike Rental operation at Justin Herman Plaza. It’s behind the Hyatt Regency Hotel, facing the Ferry Building, near the end of Market Street.

In the Marina District, bike rentals are found at Fort Mason Center (a venue frequently used for fairs and festivals, as well as a Friday night food event and a Saturday morning farmers market) near Marina Boulevard and Buchanan Street, where there is also a parking lot.

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is mostly flat and ideal for a bike ride. With more than 13 million visitors every year, Golden Gate Park is one of the nation’s largest and busiest urban parks in a city center.

Golden Gate Park covers more than 1,000 acres on an area of land shaped like a rectangle stretching from its western edge right near the Pacific Ocean, to its eastern end at the edge of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.

The 19 entrances to the park are closed to vehicular traffic for half-day on Saturdays and all day on Sundays. From April through October, carless Saturdays are extended to the full day.

Inside the park, a host of sights and activities offer a wide array of things to do and see: California Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco Botanical Garden, Children's Playground and Carousel, Sharon Art Studio, Lawn Bowling, Beach Chalet, Dutch Windmill & Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden, Bison Paddock, Lindy in the Park, Tennis Complex, rowing on Stow Lake, the National AIDS Memorial Grove and more.

Choose a bike

Rentals include comfort bikes, tandem bikes, kids bikes and carriers and surreys for two or four passengers. All can be hired by the hour, half-day, full day or 24 hours. Some bikes may be able to be returned to a different location, so ask at the time of booking.
