Tour was just as advertised. Definitely recommend and price is reasonable. Due to park restrictions the tour was on a large van, not a full size bus. Which we thought was a nicer way to go. Driver was excellent (sorry I forgot his name). He gave interesting information the whole way, but no silly games to make you respond to. From other reviews was concerned about the curvy road and motion sickness but that part of the road was very short and was not a problem. Park has to be experienced as descriptions and pictures do not due it justice. Thought time at the park was adequate, but like all good things it does have to end. Was easy walk, saw seniors making the walk without difficulty. Took ferry back from Sausalito which was a good choice for the view. Sausalito is small and had plenty of time to walk around have lunch and catch a ferry back with not a long wait. Have taken many tours in many cities and this company did a great job. Had our 2 college aged kids with us and they loved the experience as well. Again will say great driver.
It was great
Tour was excellent. The driver/guide was very informative and kept the trip lively. I would recommend this tour to friends.
Sergio was a delightfully charismatic tour guide and very safe and comfortable driver. We learned a lot about the history of the area and very much enjoyed his storytelling. The woods were beautiful and since it happened to be quite a crowded day there, we do wish we had had more time to explore, but we did get a good flavor of the beauty of the place. We chose to depart in Sausalito and explore the town before taking the ferry back to San Francisco, all of which we enjoyed. Thank you!
We started with a bus. The driver was perfec as driver and even as entertainer and guider. Visit of Muir Wood was excelent, but liitle short. It shoud be better to spend there longer time. Travel back by the ferry was beautiful during sunset. Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful tour!! Very informative and helpful driver. Muir Woods was stunning!!! One of our very best vacation tours!! Will definitely do it again. The Smith Family
We REALLY enjoyed our experience to the Redwoods and Saulsolito! It seemed to good to be true. We booked three hours before tour was scheduled to pick us up. The very nice luxury bus picked us up on the dot at our hotel. They took our phone number to make sure they found us. Our tour director was absolutely adorable and professional at the same time. I can't remember her name, but she had just got engaged the night before, and mentioned it to us. She pleasantly chattered giving us all of the history and details of the city and of our journey to the redwoods. She was so sweet and so much fun we didn't want to leave the tour. The redwoods were gorgeous and they gave us just the perfect amount of time to explore. On the way back they dropped us off at saulsilito. We had lunch and looked around the area. We then loaded the ferry and took the great ride back to fishermans wharf. They would have taken us back to our hotel but we decided to stay in the wharf for the evening and explore. I would 100% recommend this tour with this company. Everyone was very accommodating and extremely nice!! 👍🏻😃
Travel north in style, on a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, across the Golden Gate Bridge , the icon of San Francisco, and through our picturesque coastal headlands into one of the oldest national monuments.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais is Muir Woods National Monument , one of the remaining groves of first growth coastal redwoods. The woods were named for John Muir, a 19th century naturalist who was instrumental in establishing the National Park system.
Muir Woods is made up of over 560 acres of redwood forest containing the largest Coast redwoods, up to 252 feet tall and 14 feet across, 1000 years old! Wander through this grove of virgin Redwoods and capture photo opportunities like you’ve rarely experienced. The park is home to 50 species of birds, black-tailed deer, steelhead trout and hundreds of other wild inhabitants.
Then travel on to picturesque Sausalito which was once a fishing village and now a tiny bayside community. Quaint Victorian bungalows are built into the steep hillside and a variety of waterfront restaurants, boutiques and small art galleries line the downtown shopping district. Sausalito has a Mediterranean appeal that is often compared to the French Riviera.
Once you depart from the tour in Sausalito, take your time exploring Sausalito! You’ll have time for shopping, photos or a bit of exploring long the waterfront of this unique town, with its old world charm and breathtaking views of the Bay and San Francisco skyline. When you check in for your tour with your tour operator, you will receive your one-way ferry ticket and ferry schedule to take the 30-35 minute cruise back to Pier 41, San Francisco.
