It was a good tour but it would be 5 stars if we spend more time in muir woods.
Definitely 5 star rating. Tour guide was the best I've had in a long time. He was prepared, professional and very knowledgeable. The places we visited were interesting and fun. Accommodations were excellent !
Great Tour... loved it!
Great Tour. Almost too jam packed in my opinion. But between Muir Woods (definitely worth a visit) and the two wineries + 1 brewery you definitely had a fun filled day. Plenty to do and well worth it - would do it again.
The tour was great! We enjoyed the woods and wine tours! Our guide was fantastic! Would highly recommend!
All the tour in general was great! Justine was our tour guide and she was very accommodating and nice to all the guests! We enjoyed all the activities and even though it's a full day tour it never feels boring! Visiting Sonoma was great and lunch at the Cheese Factory was awesome! When we were coming back from the tour Justine stopped at a very nice spot to have a wonderful picture of the Golden Gate Bridge! Thank you for everything! Gabriel and Karen from Mexico
Nice tour. Friendly guide!
The guide was excellent knows the area very well and even makes a lot of unscheduled photo stops to please us.
Fantastic experience! Muir woods was beautiful and enjoyed the wine tasting at the vineyards. What made the trip was our guide Alberto. He was very entertaining and had a vast degree of knowledge that he shared throughout the trip about the area, it's history and knows his wines. Exceptional employee! Treat him right!
Very fun day, our tour guide was Mitch. He was very fun to hang with and knowledgable about the area. I would recommend this tour as it was a nice full day. The wine tastings could of had more but I guess that's why they are just tastings lol
This day was the best day of our vacation. Our guide, Justine, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed everything about the tour.
My husband and I were picked up at our hotel. We were first taken to the Muir Woods, in which you can see these amazing trees. After that we went to Sonoma for the wine and beer tasting. Our driver, also tour guide, Brian, made the trip more interesting and fun by giving us information or histories of the places we were visiting or passing by. It is also a good thing that this was a small group of people. I do recommend this tour for people like us that wants to have both experiences and do not have many days to spend a complete day on each of them.
Wonderful trip and our guide was fantastic.
Guide was great, we only had to pay the $7/person to get into the Muir Woods and nothing for the tastings. Would recommend, especially if you like smaller more intimate tours.
Our Muir Woods/Sonoma wine tour was fantastic! Mitch was absolutely a treat - great personality, so knowledgeable about everything and very accommodating to our schedule! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to learn more about the area. Lot's of fun!
Great tour! Marie was very knowledgeable and a great driver. The only thing I might change about the tour would be to spend more time at Muir Woods. Our group was not big wine drinkers, so 2 wine tastings was enough for us. We also could have spent more time in the Sonoma town square. We really enjoyed our day!
The Coastal Redwood is the tallest tree species in the world. These trees only thrive in Northern California and Oregon, due to the thick fog that blankets the west coast in the summer months. In 1908 Senator William Kent and his wife donated their land to the state and President Theodore Roosevelt designated it as a federally protected area. Muir Woods is the only surviving stand of Old Growth forest in the Bay Area today. In Muir Woods you will have 1 1/2 hours to wander amongst these towering giants. The sights, sounds, and smells of this living museum are sure to reconnect you with a natural world that was almost lost.
The group will reunite before noon and travel to the wine country where you will spend the afternoon sampling fine Sonoma County wines at 2 wineries, tastings included. Taste a variety of white, red, and dessert wines at theses popular Sonoma wineries, Homewood Winery and Robledo Family Winery (tastings for ages 21+). If time allows, you may visit a 3rd winery with tastings available for purchase ($5-$15 per person, may be shared).
A stop for a lunch break will be incorporated into the itinerary, either at one of the winery's on the tour OR in the Historic Sonoma Town Square - tour duration does not allow for both. If your tour stops in Sonoma, you will have the chance to visit the Mission San Francisco de Solano, the northernmost California Mission, taste cheese samples at the Sonoma Jack Cheese Factory and peruse the boutique shops that surround this center of commerce.
In the afternoon, stop by a local brewery for a flight of tastings (INCLUDED) to see why Sonoma is also called California’s Beer Country! This family owned brewery has a wide variety of traditional and unique beers to choose from. You can even buy a growler to-go once you’ve chosen your favorite!
Travelling through the Northern California wine country you will see the beautiful valleys that have supplied the world with some fantastic wines for over 60 years. The landscape of rolling hills laced with rows of wine grapes is impressive and provides a romantic backdrop for memmorable photographs. Your tour may stop at the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point to see the awe-inspiring view of San Francisco from the Marin Headlands. The tour will end with a hotel drop-off at around 6pm.
Meals & Muir Woods park entrance fee ($10 per person - which includes a $2 California State Park Fee effective Jan. 1, 2012) are not included in tour price.
